The Captain

Captain Scott Crippen

Captain Scott Crippen was born and raised in Fort Pierce Florida and has made these beautiful waters home. Scott began his offshore fishing career at age 2 fishing with his father every weekend. By age six Scott had logged more offshore hours than many do in a lifetime. Scott and his family made many Bahamas trips through his adolescent years and he got a good taste of fishing the beautiful waters of the Northern Caribbean. The Crippen family has multiple generations of fisherman. From commercial tuna fishing to lobsterman the Crippen’s have lived on the water.

Captain Scott fished religiously through grade school and high school then moved to Gainesville to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree, GO GATORS!!! Even during college the water called, and Scott fished many days learning the waters of Florida’s West Coast and Big bend area. After college he moved to the Tampa area for 5 years and continued his fishing career. Many days were spent on the water fishing from Tampa South to the Everglades. In 2002, Scott returned home to Ft. Pierce.

Captain Scott is the owner of the beautiful and historic Whites Tackle (www.whitestackle.com) which was originally founded in downtown Ft. Pierce in 1925. Since then Scott and crew have built a beautiful 5000 sq. foot store in the heart of Ft. Pierce and have added a second sister location in Stuart Florida. Scott is also a partner in a boat building company he and good friend Chris Ivey built called Skull Island (www.skullislandskiffs.com).

From working in the fishing industry Scott has been fortunate enough to fish locations around the globe and learn from great captains. Many trips have been made throughout the Caribbean, Panama, Argentina, and Mexico seeking the world’s best big game fishing. Scott and the crew of White’s Tackle have fished many tournament trails with great success, and the boat is always available for charter during tournaments.

Captain Scott has made a career out of fishing and has you covered no matter what adventure you seek. From site fishing for tailing permit to swordfishing in the deep we welcome you and your crew aboard to see what we offer.
